Opening in 1984, the Katonah Historical Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the unique history of Katonah, “the Town that Wouldn’t Drown.” The Museum is located on the third floor of the library in the McDuffie Writer’s Room. Stop on up and get a glimpse of our new village when it was really new – see photos, postcards, artifacts and learn about Katonah’s historic move. Exhibits of historical interest concerning the moving of Katonah are on display in the Library’s lower level hallway as well. These include an accurate diorama of a house on the move from Old Katonah to New Katonah (the model is a couple of feet tall; the actual building is two blocks away).
