Employee Giving Programs
An easy way to double your contribution is through employee giving programs. Many corporations match employee donations (or tax-deductible component of your donation) to our organization. If you volunteer with us, your employer may also provide us with a grant as a way to recognize your ongoing support.

Donation of Appreciated Stocks and Securities
If the stock you have owned for more than one year has increased in value from the time of purchase, donating it to the Katonah Village Library is a great mechanism for giving to the Library you love!
How to Make a Gift of Stock:
- Contact Katonah Village Library at 914-232-3508 and speak to Mary Kane. We will provide you with our DTC and account numbers for the transfer. We will also ensure that your gift is handled to your specifications, and you receive proper credit and acknowledgment for it.
- Notify your broker that you are giving securities to Katonah Village Library. You may use our sample letter as a guide. Please email us a copy of the instructions you provide your broker. Send the email to: ewaltimyer@katonahlibrary.org
- It is our investment policy to sell donated stocks immediately. Following the change of transfer, we will provide you with a donor letter for tax purposes. The Library is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization so that you will get a tax deduction equal to the stock’s current fair market value (i.e., its increased value at the time of the transfer) as a charitable contribution. And neither you nor KVL has to pay capital gains on the appreciated value of the stock.
