ONLINE DIGITAL RESOURCES

New York Heritage Digital Collections – the collections in New York Heritage represent a broad range of historical, scholarly, and cultural materials held in libraries, museums, and archives throughout the state. Collection items include photographs, letters, diaries, directories, maps, newspapers, books, and more.

New York State Library Digital Collections –  the State Library’s Digital Collections includes a substantial number of New York State publications, both contemporary materials from 1995 to the present and rare 18th and 19th century documents.

New York State Historical Society Digital Collections – its growing digital library now includes collections of photographs of New York City, manuscripts, maps, and broadsides from the Revolutionary War era, manuscripts relating to slavery and African American history, Civil War materials, and other historical resources.

Secrets of the Sequences: Video series on the Life Sciences – With initial funding from the Pfizer Foundation and the National Academy of Sciences, VCU has assembled 50 of the best videos from the public television series, “Secrets of the Sequence” to assist teachers in the application of genetic research across the biology curriculum. Funding from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute has allowed for the creation of additional videos, which are also included on this site.
