The Children’s Room at the Katonah Village Library offers free, enriching programs for infants, toddlers, preschool and elementary aged children, and their parent or caregiver. Some programs require registration, which is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Baby Lap Time combines stories, songs and finger plays for infants and babies up to age 18months with parent/caregiver. It takes place on a weekly basis and is led by a professional musician/educator.
Mother Goose Time introduces children ages 18 months–36 months with parent/caregiver to stories, songs, finger plays, and movement activities. This program is led by a professional musician/educator.
Toddler Time engages 2½-to 3½-year-old children and their parent/caregiver through music, movement and stories A variety of materials are used for storytelling such as a felt board, puppets, musical instruments and filmstrips. This program takes place on weekly.
Story Time for children ages 3–5 years, includes stories, songs, and a take-home craft, and takes place weekly.
Pajama Story Time invites children to the Library in their p.j.’s for stories and songs with Tina the Turtle. This program is held during the summer. Pajamas and stuffed animals encouraged.
Vacation Week Programs When schools are out of session, the Children’s Room is in full swing with daily entertaining and enriching activities for school-aged children. Free of charge, the programs include live performances, films, nature presentations, craft workshops, and more.
Seasonal Programs and Events Holidays, cultural heritage months, and other annual events are celebrated in programs and activities that frequently help school-aged children “connect” with good books.
Summer Reading Program and Activities A wide range of free programs are offered in the summer. The programs are designed to encourage participation in the New York State Summer Reading Game theme, and provide children with enriching educational experiences through the summer.
